Pools & Landscapes Warranty

Shoreline warrants all underground plumbing will be free from leaks or defects due to craftsmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the pool and provided a Shoreline service technician completes the seasonal winterization and closing.

Shoreline warrants the entire wall and supporting structure of all pools that the company installs will perform satisfactorily and are free from manufacturing defects for as long as the original owner owns the pool. Features built into the structure of the pool including full length steel steps, steel benches or ledges are included in this warranty. This warranty will be voided should it be found the issue is a result of external damage, OR damage caused by acts of God such as wind storms or unstable/shifting ground. Shoreline reserves the right to void this warranty if the issue is a result of improper winterization or not maintaining proper water level.

Shoreline warrants all plumbing done by our service technicians up to 3 year from original installation date. The warranty is conditional on a Shoreline service technician performing the appropriate and recommended seasonal winterization and closing. The plumbing warranty does not cover damaged pressure gauges, worn out seals or gaskets. Please refer to manufacturer manual for complete warranty terms and conditions.

25-year manufacturer limited warranty. 1-year manufacturer warranty on acrylic surface to not split, crack, blister or tear (parts only). This warranty will be deemed null and void due to staining, discoloration, damage from impact, or not maintaining proper water level in the pool.

Shoreline liners are warranted to be free from original defects in workmanship and materials and not to spate at the seams for as long as the original purchaser owns the pool. Should an original defect or seam separation occur, Shoreline will rectify the problem through our service department or offer a replacement liner in accordance with the following cost sharing schedule:

3-year manufacturer warranty (parts & labour). Warranty may become void if upon inspection by a Shoreline service technician the problem is a result of improper usage, improper winterization, electrical failure or power surge.

3-year manufacturer warranty (parts & labour). It is the client’s responsibility to clean and change the filter when required. Warranty may become void due to improper use or neglect.

3-year manufacturer warranty (parts & labour). Warranty may become void due to improper chemical maintenance. It is the client’s responsibility to provide proof of chemical testing. Shoreline is not responsible for any defect if deemed there has been abuse or neglect of the unit.

3-year manufacturer warranty (parts & labour). Warranty may become void due to improper chemical balancing, improper winterization, damage from mishandling, not cleaning cell annually.

3-year manufacturer warranty (parts & labour). Warranty may become void if the issue is a result of abuse or neglect. Shoreline will take no responsibility for damage due to electrical surges, rodent damage or any broken wires.

2-year manufacturer warranty (parts and labour). Common issues not covered by this warranty would include abuse or neglect.

5-year manufacturer warranty. Issues not covered by this warranty include but are not limited to rips in the cover, stains, rodent damage, or acts of God e.g — heavy snow or ice. Manufacturer warranty will cover seams or stiches.

2-year manufacturer warranty (parts only). Issues not covered by this warranty include but are not limited to a ripped cover, stains or water in the cover or foam.

1-year manufacturer warranty (parts only). Underground plumbing line is warrantied for life as long as Shoreline winterizes your pool. Shoreline warrants all plumbing done by our service technicians up to 3 year from original installation date. The warranty is conditional on a Shoreline service technician performing required seasonal winterization and closing. The plumbing warranty does not cover worn out seals, valves or gaskets. Any defects of the sheer unit itself are subject to original manufacturer warranty.

Spas and Internal spa plumbing are subject to manufacture warranty. Issues not covered by this warranty include but are not limited to chemical damage, damage caused by impact or frost heaving. This warranty is subject to change based on manufacturer.

All of our work is installed according to the highest level of craftmanship in the industry. Grading and drainage perform to the limits they were designed. Patios and walkways are installed in a method that exceeds the manufactures suggestions, All stone work installed using our Ultra Base permeable concrete system and HPB Base method will see a 5 year installation warranty. Damage to our work is not covered. We are responsible for the correction of our immediate work only and not for the conditions that may have been caused.

Any workmanship or materials provided or installed not explicitly mentioned in this warranty brochure are subject to the manufacturer warranty, if applicable or valid for the parts ONLY. Shoreline does not provide verbal warranties or guarantees outside of this brochure. Additional warranties or guarantees may be extended through written agreement only and signed by an officer of the company.

Manufactured products are covered under the warranty of the manufacturer or the supplier as applicable. Natural products are guaranteed to be defect-free at installation. Cracking and shaling of natural stone is beyond our control and is a characteristic of some natural materials. Shoreline will take the utmost care in recommending hardscape materials for your project using the best manufactures and brands in the market. Due to the nature of mass manufactured product labor is not included under warranty for the correction of defective material manufactured or supplied by others including natural stone or precast products.

Warranty is not provided to patio installations including new interlock, flagstone or lift and relays that do not include the installation of a new base system by Shoreline as we cannot guarantee the workmanship by others or preexisting ground conditions.

We contact Ontario One Call to locate all public utilities present on your property. We are responsible for their protection and repair if we damage them. We are not responsible for your “private” utilities that you have not specifically identified and accurately located for us. Examples include: irrigation and lighting lines, septic lines, drain tile, invisible dog fence, private gas lines for grills, etc.

Shoreline takes every precaution to protect your property including investing in the best ground cover to prevent damage to existing surfaces. We are not able to warranty any existing driveway, walkway, concrete patio or other surface our machines or staff must traverse over (machine access, general construction area) in to accommodate the installation of your project. These potential areas of concern will be identified in the pre-construction meeting and brought to the clients attention. Any required remediation to sod or areas damaged due to construction will be discussed with client, additional charges will apply.

In some cases we may require removal of existing fencing or may need to access/infringe on neighbouring properties in order to complete your project. If our work requires access to neighbouring properties it is the responsibility of the client to discuss this with the neighbour and gain their permission. Shoreline will always treat neighbouring properties with respect as we understand the impact (noise, dust, damage) our work may have to your neighbors. Most of the time any remediation required including putting back up fences taken down for access or remediation of neighboring properties will be captured in our proposals. In rare circumstances where additional work to our proposal may be required, this will be discussed with the client and additional charges may apply.

Fixtures and transformers are subject to manufactures warranty. Please refer to manufacture warranty for details. Workmanship – i.e connections will be warrantied for 10 years from the date of installation.

We will perform one replacement within one year from original installation. This covers any trees or shrubs that die, provided it has had proper care and watering. Parts of a plant may die as a normal reaction to transplanting. An injured plant must be pruned and/or trained if there is a reasonable expectation that it will return to its normal habit over time. Trees and shrubs planted in pots or raised planters and any existing tree or plant transplanted to a different location are excluded from warranty because they are exposed to unnaturally harsh conditions and soil temperatures. There is no warranty for plants that have not received proper care or plants damaged mechanically or by events of nature, animals or insects/diseases.

There is no warranty for perennials, ground covers or roses. Even though many of these plants are considered “hardy” in our climate zone, they are more susceptible to changing environment factors at any time of their life cycle, especially in a new landscape. The best prevention from loss over winter is winter protection or mulching according to the specific type of plant. Winter protection during the first year is highly recommended.

There is no warranty for annuals. Survival is dependent upon proper care and watering.

• 0 – 10 days: Water sod for at least 15 – 20 minutes in each area of the lawn per day.
  Watering a second time each day is recommended if the temperatures are over 18 degrees and sunny, It is important to get the water through the sod and into the soil below. To check whether you are watering enough, pull back the corner of the sod in several places throughout the lawn, the soil below should be moist. DO NOT FETILIZE OR MOW THE LAWN YET.
• 10 – 21 days: Water sod every other day for approximately 30 minutes. By watering for longer periods of time you are encouraging root growth deeper into the soil. Again, check to make sure you are watering enough by pulling back the corner of the sod in several places. The sod should be difficult to pull up – do not force it up if there is resistance, it means the root system is developing and should not be pulled from the soil. If the lawn is not rooting by this time you may not be watering enough. Before watering the lawn, cut the grass as needed. If the lawn is too wet to cut, refrain from watering for one day and then cut. DO NOT FERTILIZE THE LAWN YET.
• 3 WEEKS AND BEYOND: The lawn should be well rooted and can take normal foot traffic. Water the lawn approximately twice a week making sure to apply 1” of water each week. You may apply a balanced turf fertilizer six weeks after installation such as Scotts Turf Builder. Please read and follow the label carefully.

• You may walk on the lawn to move sprinklers but keep foot traffic to an absolute minimum during the initial establishment period.
• If the edges between the sod begin to separate or pull apart, you are not applying enough water, the sod is pulling apart because it is shrinking.
• Avoid watering at night or in the evenings. Prolonging the time the sod is wet can
  encourage diseases
• Make sure to water along pavement and sidewalk surfaces when the temperatures are warmer as the hot surfaces will bake the sod.
• Lawn seeding is not guaranteed
• DO NOT LEAVE YOUR NEW SOD UNATTENDED. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAINTAIN AND CARE FOR YOUR NEW SOD.
• SHORELINE DOES NOT WARRANT ANY SOD THAT HAS DIED DUE TO NEGLECT, IMPROPER WATERING/CUTTING OR EXCESSIVE TRAFFIC.

1. Water Chemicals: Test pool water weekly with test kit. This is the #1 responsibility to avoid costly repairs. Damage due to improper chemical balancing will void any warranty. At any time, Shoreline may ask to see a chemical testing log.
2. Know how to safely add chemicals to pool. If unsure, follow directions on container or contact our service department.
3. Store pool related items (covers, chemicals, etc.) safely and appropriately.
4. Regularly clean pool, skimmer & pump baskets, filters, salt cell & heater.
5. Maintain sump level no more than 6” in the well.
6. Have Shoreline winterize system for continued warranty coverage
7. Maintain proper pool water level
8. Know where your manuals are for troubleshooting.
9. Be aware of items used in the pool that could cause damage (sharp toys)
10. Be “weather aware”. In the event of a storm, secure items away from pool to avoid
    objects falling in potentially causing damage. Ensure constant diligence during large rain storms or spring thaws to monitor water levels, sump well levels etc to avoid liner floating.
